***Full disclosure***

I was given access to a Premium account for a short period of time to do this review. I advise I am also an affiliate partner of Visme.co. So if you make a purchase through my link, I will be compensated at no extra charge for you.

What Is Visme

There are many ways to make wonderful graphics online. There’s programs like Venngage, Piktochart & Canva to name some well known platforms. One I was given an opportunity to preview recently, is called Visme.co. Visme is a cloud based online graphics creation platform that allows you to create many different types of graphics, and are just fantastic to behold.

You can get started for free, but there are also paid plans to extend your capabilities with the platform.

So just what can you create with Visme? There are many content types you can create with Visme;

Presentations
Infographics
Charts & Graphs
Documents
Printables
Social Media and Web Graphics

To create from this plethora of content types, Visme has many assets of pre formatted icons, photos, data widgets, flow charts, there is an INSANE amount of infographics and a huge number of templates for each of the content types. These allow you to create some very specific and powerful content.

Even before you get started , under the Learn tab on the main part of the home page, they have VISME VERSITY, which is obviously a play on the word University. These free resources will empower you to become a great storyteller using visual media. You can obviously learn as well through their blog, they also have various ebooks and handouts, a whole bunch of videos on their YouTube channel, which is particularly useful if you not created graphics before, or to get a better understanding of specific ways to do content creation.

At least once a week, they hold live webinars, showcasing certain subjects of how you can improve your content creation and gather insight on the various functions within Visme.

Getting started is simple by creating an account that will use a username and password (or use your Facebook or Google account as the login account). Once you’re presented with the home screen you will notice it defaults to the My Projects screen.

Inside The Visme Dashboard

How is a quick run down of the functions on the left of the home screen.

On the left, you have the Create button. Underneath the Create button, you have access to all projects. If you are managing teams, you will see all project, team members will only see those under my projects, which are projects shared by other team members or the team leader.

My Projects, if you’re using teams, you can create your own unique folders. You can delete projects and remove them.

The Slide Library is useful for slides from previous presentations you wish to re-use as a template for new presentation creations. Slide groups allows to store, view or share the above library items for future use but assorted into specific folders.

Your trash bin will store deleted items for 30 days of placement, then automatically delete that file unless you put back your design or permanently delete it.

Brand specifications allow you to set up certain fonts, colors, styles and pre formatted objects.
This is especially useful for teams, agencies and brand that need specific brand logo, fonts, links, style, colour and adherence to Brand visual policy towards all content creation.

You can also link out certain projects that you can follow and see the analytics. This function provides a way to share a link to your content and spread the word on your website, podcast or social media, anywhere you can share a link.

You are able to see basic feedback on how many views and the number of unique visits of these viewing your presentations, infographics and other projects.

Forms allows you to create basic lead generation for obtaining contacts, emails and company names. You can create registration forms for a person to fulfill as a requirement before they can view/download a specified type of content you have setup in this fashion.

Create Your Graphic Project

Now, one of the easiest things to do to get started, on the home page, all the way over on the top left, click the blue Create + button. This brings you to the main page of showing you all your content styles that you can potentially create. Now one thing you’ll notice as you click through the question, it’s asking what would you like to create today, you can create presentations, infographics, documents, printables, web graphics, social graphics, or a pre formatted custom size.

Now with presentations, you can create multiple page slides. Every single one of these items has templates, you can select a template and use that template as your basis for your project. And whilst you’re within your particular template, you can also make changes as you choose.
Let’s get started on a quick example creation. if we go and select the social graphic, let’s say that we want to create a YouTube thumbnail. Now YouTube thumbnails are known here on Visme as a YouTube video cover. Selecting YouTube video covers, it already has a pre formatted size of 1280 by 720 pixels, which is perfect for YouTube thumbnails. Once you select YouTube video covers, it will show you a range of a few dozen pre formatted templates. Or you start with a blank template. For now select the very first template, Exploring Yosemite National Park.

Click on the edit button. Click on the photo near one of the corners. Here you can upload one of your own photos, or click on a photo on the left, under free images to replace the current image. This will change your background photo.

You’ll notice that each of the elements of your text is also editable. And each of the graphics that are on there of the non text style graphics are also editable as well. So quite simply, you can change, add or delete elements at your leisure. You can change colors, you can change fonts, you can add ANY of the other elements on the left. You can add headers and texts, stats and figures. If you want to add infographics, there are specific graphics that you can add smaller photos, so if you wanted to, you could add a black block text. You could add a black block where then you could separately insert a photo so of your own face that you might want to use as a visual for creating your YouTube thumbnail.

There are data elements which are pre formatted graphics that you can actually go in and change the format and put real world details in each of the graphics. So for example, if you had a pie chart, if you had three segments of the pie chart, you could actually add elements to all three separate items showing in particular detail that you want to express in your infographic.

Audio, Video and Web media you can add as well. You can embed online content with URL’s, you can add audio, you can insert video. So this would give you the power of not just using it as a YouTube thumbnail, but you could actually export it as an editable HTML file to be able to share on social media. If you have a brand, there are particular theme colors as a default that you could use. And the last item is your files that you can add where you’ve got your own pre formatted photos or other graphics that you want to use.

Once you have finished with all your content creation elements, name your project and decide on how you want to publish your final product (top, right hand side)

Share – This will allow you to create a shareable link for the web
Download– This will allow you to publish as a *.JPG or *.PNG file for publishing or depending on your paid plan, publish as a PDF or ppt document or as an html file.

Back on the home page, within your Account Settings (top right, under your account name and picture) is another element and you can use on Visme. You can look at your billing and payments, you can manage teams. And you can also access the Visme blog.

You can become a Visme partner, which allows you to create and share affiliate links, and with sharing your link, each time someone selects the link and signs up to paid plan on Visme.co you receive a percentage payment as a commission. So full disclosure here, I am a business partner, as well as having full Premier access for a period of time and using the premier account to be able to show you the details of this review.

My final thoughts on Visme.co

Compared to a lot of other programs, I think you’re bang for back on the pricing of this product compared with Venngage, Canva, Piktograph is pretty amazing. There is simplicity and lots of power in creating visual content, literally you can be creating amazing graphics in under 10 minutes.

There is also an extensive array of other content types one can make outside of of just social content or infographics.

You can also create so much more differing types of content, here are some examples;

Visme is used to make Graphs and Charts: https://www.visme.co/graph-maker/

Visme Graph Creator

Also use the platform to create Printables such as Flyers; https://www.visme.co/flyer-maker/

Use the platform to create Scatter Plots: https://www.visme.co/scatter-plot-maker/

Visme Scatter Graph

Use the platform to publish Survey results: https://www.visme.co/survey-results-report/

Use the platform to publish Professional visual documents: https://www.visme.co/professional-document-creator/

Using the functions within the platform I found the learning curve is not that steep and does not take much time to understand. There’s not much difference in editing and creating an infographic as there is to create a social profile or social ad or social graphics. And I think you will be up and running within a matter of minutes. The Help section is pretty extensive. The videos are extremely helpful in walking you through each of the elements on using Visme.

But wait, any downsides?

Of course there is, but hardly enough to not use Visme.

There are currently no preformat banner sizes for Youtube banners on desktop view only for PC or Mac (2560 x 472) which allows the text to be visible only within that format. Although you can create this with a blank template.

There are no pre-format templates for Twitch (900 x 480)

There are no pre-format templates for podcast cover art (3000 x 3000)

There is currently no integration with other apps as in any social platform, no integration with Slack, Tumblr, or other platforms like, Mailchimp, Hootsuite, Buffer, Leadpages, Tumblr, Snapchat and various others.

eBooks are limited to PNG, JPG, PDF or html, no native *.mobi or *epub. You can use third party software to do this.

Pricing

Pricing (Individual plans)
All prices are in US dollars. On the free plan, you can make up to five projects you get 100Mb storage, you have limited access to most templates, you can only download as a JPEG. You can access to some charts and widgets and your projects when sharing URLs can only be public.

The Standard plan is $14 a month (when paid annually, otherwise $25 per month to month), which allows you to make up to 15 projects. You get 250 megabytes storage. All premium assets and templates, no Visme branding on projects and you get the addition to be able to Download as PDF as well as JPEG. You can create color palettes and you get all access to charts and widgets.

The Complete plan, which is also known as the Premium plan, it’s $25 a month (when paid annually, otherwise $39 per month to month), you get all items, content and photos and templates available in Standard plus, all your projects are unlimited, you get 10Gb of storage, you can download in JPEG, PNG and html5, you get access to the slide library with your downloadable assets where you can share URL you can access and enable privacy controls. You can collect and store leads for forms creation, you can organize your folders for your projects.

Pricing (Business plans)
The business planes much better when you want to add more than one user but they do have a single user business (brand) account $25 a month (when paid annually, otherwise $39 per month to month) in everything in standard, plus you can record audio. Adding extra team members is an extra $25 month (when paid annually, otherwise $39 per month to month), you also get 10 gigs of storage per added user. You can share projects and folders and the primary account holder can set permissions for the individual team members.

Educators, you are catered for as well, check out the Student and Educator per semester plans.

Final Words

All in all, compared to Canva, Venggage, Piktograph, PicMonkey, Crello, Stencil and several other programs on the internet today. I believe for ease of access, number of templates, the number of visuals, the ability to record audio, the extensive platform of creating various different projects like eBooks, presentations, infographics, social media, blog post graphics, and several others is pretty powerful. I also believe that the amount of time that you need to spend on a project is not that long and that you will be up and running in creating graphics in almost no time at all. Now obviously a lot of other places like Canva that have similar graphics creation potential are free and charge very little for additional elements, but I think as a singular all-in-one platform, you can’t go wrong with using a program like Visme.
